Scan2Net®

Scan2Net® is a fully web-based architecture for Image Access scanners with role-based access control. Instead of drivers and PC software, each scanner has its own 64-bit Linux computer with real-time image processing. The scanner connects to the network via Ethernet (TCP/IP): all that is needed is to assign it an IP address and open a web browser on a Windows, macOS, or Linux computer. According to the manufacturer, it is the world’s first true scan-to-network platform.

All image processing takes place inside the scanner, without third-party libraries, so throughput does not depend on the PC’s resources. Rotation, cropping, and deskewing are performed on the fly, and virtual rescan allows settings to be changed without rescanning. Finished files are sent via Gigabit LAN to SMB network folders, to FTP servers, by email, and to printers; the scanner can also be operated without a PC, from a monitor connected to it. The built-in control interface is the ScanWizard application.
