Overview
The WideTEK 12 SPECTRUM is a multispectral flatbed scanner for originals up to DIN A3+ (12 × 18″). It captures images in ultraviolet (365 nm), in the infrared range (850 nm), in visible light, in 3D mode, and in transmitted light. The manufacturer positions it as a fast, accurate, and reliable alternative to many more expensive laboratory instruments.
The scanner is designed for authenticating banknotes, passports, ID cards, and certificates, for forensic and research laboratories, and for quality control. Backlight mode reveals watermarks and other semitransparent security features. A full color or IR scan of the entire area at 300 dpi takes 3 seconds, and a 1200 dpi scan takes up to 12 seconds.
