Overview
The Qidenus Mastered Book Scanner is a semiautomatic book scanner for large-scale book digitization and, according to the manufacturer, one of the market leaders. Its self-centering cradle with a gentle 80° opening angle works together with an automated V-shaped glass plate. The scanner comes in four formats — A3+, A2, A2+, and A1 — for books up to 84 × 59 cm and up to 16 cm thick.
“2-in-1” mode: semiautomatic and manual. The scanner switches to manual mode at the push of a button, so fragile books that need a human hand can be digitized gently. The speed is up to 1,500 pages per hour, and the resolution up to 1,000 ppi (A3+ format). According to the manufacturer, the scanner is easy to upgrade and can operate in compliance with the FADGI and Metamorfoze preservation standards.
